When your pet is sick or injured, getting accurate information is critical. Sometimes, imaging your pet with radiographs or ultrasound may be necessary to appropriately care for them. Blue Lake Animal Care Center offers the most technologically sophisticated imaging equipment on the market. Our modern digital X-ray system, produced by Sound Technologies, produces immensely detailed images, allowing us to achieve an accurate diagnosis quickly. Superb images can be created both for soft tissue, as well as orthopedics(bone/joint). Because they are digital, they do not require time and dangerous chemicals to process. Plus, they can be enhanced and altered as needed. As an added convenience, these images can be emailed, making it handy for people who are traveling and may need to have the images reviewed by another veterinarian.
If the need arises, we have the capability to upload these images to board certified veterinary radiologists, who are able to review the images to aid us in the proper care. We also employ a color Doppler ultrasound machine made by Mindray, which produces outstanding imaging capabilities for soft tissue, such as the abdomen and heart, in all animals. These can also be sent and reviewed by specialists if necessary.
We also have experience and training in using the ultrasound to guide needles into various organs to attain non-invasive tissue samples without surgery, such as bladder, kidney, lymph nodes, liver, and spleen.
