BLACC is the only place my pets will ever go in Tahoe. Dr. Powell is an incredible vet and truly cares about the animals he serves. The staff is fantastic. The facility is clean and cozy. You really can’t ask for a kinder, more qualified team than what you’ll find at BLACC.
This place is as good as it gets! My dog and I have been to 4 different vet offices in South Lake Tahoe and Carson City, and Dr Powell is the most thorough vet we have ever met. The staff is always friendly, accommodating, and SO helpful. Dr. Powell is one of the only vets who will sit on the floor with your pet to make them feel more at ease, and his vast knowledge of all things veterinary puts our minds at ease as well. We love BLACC and would recommend them to any and everyone!
We highly recommend Dr. Powell and the new Blue Lake Animal Care Center! Dr. Powell is a down to earth pro – who really loves animals and is willing to take the time to answer questions and explain the pros and cons of treatment options. He currently takes care of our Vizsla and helped our elderly little 16.5 year terrier move on with compassion and care (for him and us).
We have been taking our dog to Dr. Powell for years. He is an amazing Vet. He always spends as much time as is needed with us, explaining to us all of our options, and never trying to “sell” us something that we don’t need. Our dog should be giving this review, for she doesn’t like many humans and especially men, but he loves Dr. Powell! He will always be our Vet.
We love Dr. Powell! He’s been taking care of our two dogs from the time they were puppies. Extremely knowledgeable and has helped both of our dogs through a lot.
Dr Powell has been our vet for over 12 years I think now….and my husband, being a Heavenly Ski Patroller, knows of some Heavenly Ski Patrol dogs who have been under his care too. Great caring staff as well. He is great at explaining options and in layman terms, easy to understand. Our dogs love him and respond well to his manner and kind voice. Our family is 30 + years on the mountain….and he is the best vet on the hill in our experience. We love Dr Powell and trust him explicitly.
Needed a vet while vacationing in Tahoe for our 12 year old doxy. 5 stars is not enough for this place. Vet and his staff exceeded our expectations and were wonderful patient and knowledgeable. Should I need a vet again while in Tahoe I’ll for sure be back here!!
