Blue Lake Animal Care Center offers several orthopedic surgery services.
If your pet has the unfortunate experience of fracturing a bone, we will always offer you all of the choices available to get your dog or cat back to a normal life, surgical or not. If indicated, we offer numerous orthopedic surgical procedures such as bone plating, pinning and/or wiring that may be required to fix the fractured bone(s).
In addition, if your pet experiences a knee ligament injury (for example, a cruciate ligament tear), procedures such as an extracapsular repair(sometimes referred to a “Tightrope” procedure) could be recommended. In other cases, a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy, or “TPLO”, could be recommended. If there is a problem inside a joint (severe arthritis, bone chips, etc.), a boarded surgeon may recommend for arthroscopy (a tiny video camera placed inside the joint) to remove the source of your pet’s pain.
We will always present you and your pet the best surgical options for the best outcome, even if it isn’t with us. After all, your pet’s interests are our first priority.
